Harvesting & Letting Go

Harvesting & Letting Go

October is a month of transition, with the crisp fall air and the changing colors of the leaves. It is the perfect time to focus on self-care and prepare for the colder months ahead.

Our self care ritual for this month is geared towards "Harvesting and Letting Go."

The changing of the seasons reminds us that it is also a time for letting go. Just as the leaves fall from the trees, we too can release what no longer serves us. This could be negative self-talk, toxic relationships, or unhealthy habits. By letting go of what weighs us down, we can make space for new growth and possibilities.

To incorporate this theme into a self-care ritual, one could burn sage, also known as smudging. It is believed to have cleansing properties that help remove negative energy and promote healing. When sage is burned, it releases negative ions, which are said to neutralize positive ions that are associated with stress, anxiety, and other negative emotions.

You could also write down what you are grateful for and what you are ready to let go of on separate pieces of paper and burn them in a safe and controlled manner. Finally, a warm bath rituals with salts and essential oils along with a cup of herbal tea can help reflect on your personal harvest and intentions for the upcoming season.
